HRM Pro and Forerunner 225

New HRM Pro and Old Forerunner 225.   The watch doesn't connect to HRM Pro which is known and ok.

However, activities in Garmin Connect seem to all take HR from the watch, Forerunner 225.  However, 'Heart Rate' section under health Stats on Connect apparently refers to the HRM pro recorded HR.

Generally about 10BPM variation in max HR.

Question is, can I force the activities to take on the HRM Pro HR Data, not the watch HR? (which I assume is more reliable/accurate)

Image 1:  The Heart Rate chart under the activity in Garmin Connect. = 183 BPM Max

Image 2 the same activity under 'health Stats'  "Heart Rate"  = 173 BPM Max. (same activity)

Although Forerunner 225 does not support the advanced features of HRM-Pro like the Running Dynamics, Pace & Distance, etc., there should be no problem connecting the basic HRM functionality over ANT+. This is what the manual tells about pairing HRMs and other ANT+ sensors to FR225: Forerunner 225 - Pairing Your ANT‍+ Sensors

Not sure whether it can work without pairing the HRM to the watch, but if the strap is paired directly with Garmin Connect, then you can try disabling the wrist HR sensor on the watch, or simply removing the watch from the wrist (or wearing it over a thick sleeve), and sync the strap with Garmin Connect before removing it after the end of the activity. I am afraid though, that this functionality may not work without the pairing. Worth of the testing anyway.
