Vivosmart 4 - Used to track Intensity Minutes but now always showing 0 Intensity Minutes

I have a Vivosmart 4. I go on walks, play racket sports, etc. and Intensity Minutes used to capture these activities and record them as Intensity Minutes. As of a few weeks ago, I have had 0 Intensity Minutes regardless of the activity that I participate in. My RHR has not changed and hovers around 50-60. How can I get the Intensity Minutes back. I've read through various threads but none of them really helped my specific situation on my specific device. Thanks!

  • Could you post a link to one of the activities that did not trigger any Intensity Minutes? (Open the activity in Garmin Connect Web, make it visible to Everyone (see the padlock icon in the top right corner of the page), and post here the URL from the address line of the browser.)

  • Hi, thank you for replying. Sure, this morning I played Padel (a racket sport). Here is what my heart rate looked like with a high of 104 and RHR of 49. Intensity minutes today is 0 and it should not be IMO.

  • Could you post a screenshot of the settings for Intensity Minutes? They should be in Device Settings » Health & Wellness » Weekly Intensity Minutes.

  • Thanks again. I’m unable to find the setting that you’re referring to. I have a Vivosmart 4 and this is what I see:

I cannot find an Intensity Minutes setting inside of any of the listed sections above.

  • Apologies! I eventually did find the setting for Intensity Minutes under Activity Tracking. Here it is:

  • Should be in the Activity Tracking, according to the manual for your device: vívosmart 4 - Activity Tracking Settings

  • Yes, you use the default setting based on the Resting HR. I think that the problem in your case is that the HR is not sufficiently elevated for more than 10 continuous minutes. It peaks rather low at some 95 bpm, which could be sufficient for earning some IMs, but you'd need to stay minimally at that level for longer than 10 continuous minutes, which does not seem to be the case. You'll need to make a bit more effort, and try to get your HR higher for longer time.
