Let me name/rename my activity and THEN tap to submit to connected apps.

I haven’t seen a topic addressing this, but as a UI/UX expert, I find it hard to believe that whomever designs the Garmin Connect experience (iOS, Android, Web) hasn’t thought of this.

I hate the fact that Garmin Connect on iOS doesn’t allow me to name/rename a newly synced activity AND THEN push the activity to my linked accounts (Strava, Ride with GPS, Trailforks, etc.)

    At least for Strava it wouldn't matter since Strava names the activities itself no matter the name in Garmin Connect. I use https://activityfix.com/ to automatically rename activities in Strava with the rule "Set title to [[fit_name]]". 

    Ride with GPS and Trailforks can use Garmin Connect or Strava. Change it to Strava and it should use the name you set in Strava.

    For Trailforks I don't see the names of the activities at all.

    Garmin Connect does not have any such functionality to submit activities to 3rd party apps. In fact, the 3rd party apps read data from Garmin's API, Garmin does not send anything, they just give the 3rd parties access to their data whenever they want. I am not sure whether the edits are accessible through the API to the 3rd parties, but regardless of it, for implementing such feature you would have to contact all 3rd parties and ask them to implement the rereading too. I am afraid it is not very likely.

    And besides it, the name of the activity is in fact not at all the part of the activity file. If you used a structured Workout for the activity, the name of the workout is already included, so 3rd parties could use it. Not sure is some 3rd parties use it, but I know that Strava does not.

    The name of the activity, regardless whether the original, or the edited, is not at all included in the activity file. Each 3rd party creates their own name. So for example Garmin Connect may name your activity Chicago Run, and Strava will use Afternoon Run instead anyway.

    I use Training Peaks and Final Surge and they don't change the name of my custom workouts either.

    Wish this was possible with Strava for searching activities easily. What I mostly do now is rely on Garmin when I want to search for a workout, and only rename activities in Strava when they're a highlight or have important achievements there. If I want to search for an activity in Strava that hasn't been renamed then it'll take some time finding the activity in connect and searching through the date in Strava Web.
