Is there a way to add average speed to the "last activity" at a glance window?

I'm new to Garmin and to having a bike computer. When I try to check stats for my last activity (always a ride) it shows me distance, total time, and avg power, which are all great, but avg speed isn't  listed. It's such a basic stat, how can it not be available as a basic summary item without having to click down to another screen to find it? And there's plenty of room in the at a glance screen for it.

  • I don't bike, but for the sake of this thread I did a short test outdoor biking activity on my epix (Gen 2) watch. I can see "Avg Speed" in the At a Glance section as well as after opening it. Also, it's there in Garmin Connect Web.

This was on an android phone, so that might be the difference. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

  • This is what I see on the home page.

  • The "problem" is that you got a power meter and the number of fields are limited and power will take precedence over average speed. Disconnect the power meter if you want average speed displayed. Those tiles are not configurable. You have to do the calculation yourself. It is just distance divided by time.

    1. Thanks, e7andy. Don’t mean disconnect the power meter as a synced device or somewhere in the app as a displayed data point? Aside from doing the speed calculation, I can just tap down to the next level  to see it. But hoping to figure out a way to have it on the at a glance level. My lizard brain is more interested in that than power for immediate gratification. Thanks again.
  • It was mostly a joke to disconnect the power meter, but it will make the average speed to be displayed. If you really want to remove it you remove it as a sensor from the device that logged the activity.
