How can I export a gpx directly from the app?

I need to be able to record an activity on my watch, sync with my phone via bluetooth, and then be able to export the gpx file to different mapping applications, still within my phone. I need to be able to do with without a laptop and being connected to the internet.

It should be easy to be able to go for a trail run/ski tour and record an activity, then be able to save the track in a different app like Gaia, without having to be on a computer on the internet.

It poses a safety risk as the track can be used to avoid serious exposure and complex terrain on the return trip. Additionally, this can be lifesaving when out in the back country for multiple days.

Is this possible?

  • You can export any activity in the GPX format either using Garmin Connect Web (works on phones too), or the Garmin Explore app. Garmin Explore works without Internet connection.

You did not tell which Garmin model you use, but on watches with navigation you can navigate past activities without having to export them anywhere.
