Tacx app not working correctly with Garmin Connect Workouts

A few months ago I was no longer able to run workouts from within my Tacx app as I have been doing for several years now. Instead, I was advised that I would need to create workouts in the Garmin Connect app.

While that sounded ok and sensible, the new workouts in Garmin Connect are hopelessly inadequate and do not replicate the experience I was previously enjoying.

1. Under the old Tacx workout, I would get a screen when opening a 10km bike workout that would allow me to warm up (showing all the relevant metrics), then when I clicked the start button the timer and distance stats would reset to zero in order to record my 10km of activity. Similarly, when I finished the activity, any stats relating to the cool down were not included in my activity data.

Now that the Garmin workout is used, the warm-up and cool-down data is INCLUDED in the workout activity, meaning I no longer have isolated data for the 10km of riding and instead have consolidated data for the entire ride (including warm-up and cool down). This information is totally meaningless and means I have no way of tracking my progress on the 10km of actual riding activity.

2. Despite having a Garmin heart rate belt, since I started using the Garmin workouts there is no heart rate data showing in the Tacx app (even though the belt is clearly linked via bluetooth).

Can anyone from Garmin please sort this mess out? I've gone from being a loyal Tacx customer for 20+ years to a totally disgruntled customer who will be looking at alternatives if this issue isn't resolved.
