I understand that you need to meet or exceed the distance to count as a PR, ie 6.19 miles isn’t a 10k. But when I go a little over a PR distance, Garmin will sometimes use the time for the whole distance rather than the PR distance. For instance, Garmin recorded a 6.30 mile run at 42:09 as the 10k PR, even though I ran the 10k (6.21 miles) about 30-40 seconds faster than I ran the total distance. This has happened a few times where I ran a bit longer than the distance but it used the entire activity distance time as the PR. Does anyone know what’s going on here?
Garmin says: If the uploaded activity contains no PRs reported by the device then Garmin Connect will evaluate the activity to see if the total distance meets and barely exceeds the distance of the closest PR distance. When the total distance of that activity exceeds the PR distance by a significant amount, you will need to set the PR manually within the activity summary page. Is this my situation? I wouldn’t think 0.09 miles was a "significant amount.“
