Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Garmin pay issue

I recently purchased this watch, and while trying to get Garmin Pay to work, I experienced major issue. After putting in the card info, I am asked to fill in shipping address. After I click save, screen refreshes, but address is not visible, the only option is button to fill in shipping address. So I am stuck in a loop. When checking my profile on Garmin webpage, I can see my address is there multiple times, so it seems it is being stored somewhere, but the Connect app does not see it.

What I tried:

  • Reset the watch settings and data
  • Remove and reinstall the Connect app
  • Two different debit cards (each from different bank, both supported)
  • Contacting my bank (they do not see any attempt from Garmin to add the card)
  • Both Connect app and watches are up to date and communicating fine
  • Reached tech support chat here, but they could not help

Anybody experiencing something similar? Card is working with my Apple Watch with no issues. Seems there is some bug when the Connect app is not able to retrieve shipping address.

Phone is iPhone 12 Pro with latest iOS 18.1

Edit: Just finished call with the Garmin support, they confirmed they are aware of the issue and update to the Connect app should fix this issue. For anyone having the same issue, just make sure to update the app once available.

  • Shipping address? For Garmin Pay with the watch you don't need a shipping address. Maybe it is the e-commerce payments function your are clicking.

    To add a card to the watch you should go to More > Garmin devices > [click your device if you got multiple] > Garmin Pay > Add Card

  • Apologies, I am not using English in my app. The prompt is asking me for billing address, not shipping address (that is translation error). I switched the app to English, this is the screen I am stuck on: https://imgur.com/AkN52iA

  • It seems no matter which credit card info I fill in, even if I use made up card numbers containing only "54" in combinations, I am stuck on the billing address screen. Seems like the app is not even trying to contact the bank, it is just stuck on billing address selection, no error message is popping up. 

  • I did try to add another card to my Garmin Pay and when I get to the billing address page I see a list of my previously entered billing addresses and can select one, get a checkmark and then click next. When I click next the verification with the bank starts.

  • Interesting. Maybe this affects only new users? I just finished call with the support, and they confirmed they are aware of the issue, seems to be connected to the mobile app. They said they will fix it in following update.
