Activities are not synchronized on Forerunner 945. What to do?

Hello.

I inherited the 945 from my dad. I deleted all his activities and now I am using the watch to record my open water swims. The swims are recorded on the watch. The watch is connected with the Garmin App. Sync wors, at least the visual feedback in the app indicates so. However, my new recorded activities are not send to the application.

What I already tried:

  • hard reset of the watch
  • reinstall of the app
  • swith off app and watch
  • disconnect watch from app and reconnect again
  • put all values to factory defaults

it is frankly driving me a bit crazy. What else can I try or do?

  • Did your dad remove the watch from his Garmin Connect account, and from the list of Bluetooth devices on his phone (in the case he is in the proximity when you are trying to sync)? Did you try syncing over the USB cable to a computer with Garmin Express?

  • Thanks  for your quick response!! My dad never actually connected the watch to his phone. I also guess he did not remove the watch from his Garmin account (if he had to create an account during setup)... so I will try to do that. I also did not sync the watch via USB cable to my Mac because I will need to buy an adapter for that. I'll report back once I tried out all those options.

  • okay. so I could solve it when connecting via USB cable and then -> open Garmin Express -> Open Tools and Content -> Open Privacy -> Enable Garmin Device Upload

    This was deactivated in my case which effectively blocked the watch from uploading data to Garmin Connect.
