Hours of rest in pool swim activity logged

I recorded pool swimming with my Forerunner 165 today and paused because someone was slower in front of me.

Garmin added 36 hours 24 minutes 31 seconds of rest to my activity. This also messes up the graphs (as the actual swim time is very short relatively).

However, the total elapsed time is correct (I also paused for a few minutes for a toilet break after 800m out of 1500m which was logged fine)

How can I correct this?

@ Garmin please fix this.

You can try trimming the activity. However, since the Trim function is not available at Pool Swim, you have to change the type of the activity for example to Run, then trim it, and change back to Pool Swim. No worry, no data will be lost by the change, and the original activity can be restored at any point, anyway,.

Another possibility is using an external tool for removing the mid section (the native Trim can only trim the starting and/or ending parts). For example the Section Remover at FIT File Tools. For that you have to export the file, unzip it, upload the FIT file to the FFT site, and then import it to GC (you'll need to delete the original first).

Garmin does not fix broken FIT files, but if you want to report it as a bug, I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com
