I recently picked up a second Vivoactive3 as I have some long riding days ahead and want to be able to flip to recording on a second watch before the battery runs out on the first.
A side benefit is that I can always have one on my bedside table with a full battery and ready for unplanned spontaneous activity.
I have been forced by the Connect app to set one as my primary wearable despite there being no primary wearable in real life.
There are two things I’ve notice about that…
- Despite recording heart rate and displaying it all in graphs regardless of which watch I wear, the live heart rate in the app only displays for the primary wearable even if it’s off or out of range. Small thing, probably worth adding to your bug list, but not really a problem for me.
- Despite having the data from whichever watch I actually wear overnight, sleep data only shows if I wore the device set as non primary when I toggle it to primary and scroll back through the sleep days. This is a proper annoyance.
I am not sure weather to consider this a feature request or a bug report, but I think the expected behaviour should be that sleep data comes from whichever device is providing heart rate data, maybe defaulting to the primary if the user is wearing more than one for some reason.
In fact this would align with what the documentation says about data being used from the primary wearable if two devices are recording the same data.
