The recommendation is to only sync using one of your mobile devices. Then, the other device can sync with Garmin's servers and show the same data as the other device. This is assuming you've logged into the Connect app using the same Garmin account. This is what I do. I use my phone to sync the watch, then later I can use my tablet to view the data.
