Incorrect distance during walking activity

During walking activities with GPS active I see that the distance recorded is very much differing from what I expected. Checking with another GPS app on the same walk proves this, measured with Guru maps and expected from my walking guide is 18km, however Connect shows 21.53km.

Recovering the number of steps (22400) and the personal setup of steplength 0.80m should also result in 18km.

What can I do to correct this?

I am on iPhone 13 and latest iOS

I have the same problem on an iPhone 15. This started happening after I updated the app last weekend.

For me it is a thing I noticed already last year but was not sure then, however last weeks I did much longer walks and then it became more clear that the measurement is way off.

I am not sure it has anything to do with the steplength in personal settings. Maybe it is just incorrect interpretation of the GPS data...

I think it’s related to the latest app update. Mine was fine last week and since updating the app last weekend, I have had this issue.
