Yep...it's not straightforward, but you can downgrade any app as long as the developer still has older versions available on the App Store, which most will because not everybody can update to the latest iOS. And of course that means you're using official Apple software and App Store...no shady sideloading the app like on Android. 
 Search for the Github page called "How to Downgrade Apps on AppStore with iTunes 12.6.5 & Charles Proxy". I followed it to a T and was back on 4.77 in under 20 minutes, and now I have the whole installer file backed up on my PC in case it ever happens again.
