Garmin Connect Mobile Updated Home Page

It’s terrible.

  • Getting used to it was a bit difficult. At first it would buffer steady, drive me crazy. Now that everything has settled down the new version is pretty good. The at a glance feature has larger icons with more detail. Able to view more metrix or select all and see them all. Overall I like it now. Change sucks. Just set it up to view what you like and it's great.

It's an athletic data and metrix app. Get out there and rip up the trails. Have fun.

I wonder if it's a phone screen size problem where people can't see as much.

  • I have S23 Ultra and most of the tiles are just empty space. When you want to present data, graphs and trends, you want to have wide presentation format and not tiles! And they use tiles even on website layout. Who is the genius who thought it's a good idea to use same layout for horizontal phone screen and vertical PC monitor?

Previous UI had at glance without even calling it at glance, it just presented everything necessary better. Scrolling horizontally is PITA and just bad UI design for the app.

And getting used to it does not make it good in any way.

  • The look and feel of the mobile app changed and I want to ask if there is a way to get back to the old one? The mobile app does not update the monthly cycle data and the weight from the index scale. I can only check the cycle values in the web browser, the weight is shown after I activate that menu but not in the overview tab. The old one ran stable and I did not miss anything. The new one seems to have some bugs still

  • Why have a tile that size with such little data on them?

Because some tiles need the size and are filled with data. It should obviously be a uniform size. So some are partly filled with data and others are a little emptier.
I could imagine that there would be complaints if all tiles have a different size, and the binding screen would then look nested like tetris.
    just my two cents

  • You and I are never going to agree and that is ok. I hate the tiles as they are and I think that if they stay they should all be rich with data and truly customizable with what the users what to see otherwise it is truly wasted space.

  • However. The topic of this thread is "can i go back".

Garmin says there is no going back.

Even if there are some people who would like to have the old Connect back. That will not happen.
From my point of view there are really more important things in this world. People are dying in wars, children are starving...etc. I think it's time to concentrate on the important things again. If you do that, it seems to be a very small problem, whether you need 1 click to call up something in Connect or 2.

Go out, train, be friendly to each other.

    just my two cents.

  • Fully agree, dramatic look and feel and workouts training schema do not synch to watch. Considering changing wearable after +20years back to polar or apple

  • Considering changing wearable after +20years

An addendum. Incidentally, I have noticed that many of the people complaining have been using garmin devices for many years. However, many of them are obviously new to the forum. To complain. Many of them were never here before. It's a shame that we've never seen many of them here before. And somehow I suspect that these people will soon stop posting here again. I think that's a shame. A forum should be there to help each other with problems that arise. Not just to complain. I would welcome it if even those who are new to the forum and have only posted "I hate the new connect" would remain active in the forum and provide constructive help on a wide variety of topics.

    just my two cents

  • I prefer the old version of the Home page, but I can get used to this if I have to, I just wish the intensity minutes were not taken off altogether. That gave me a quick glance of  the intensity of my workout and/or walk.

  • You can see the intensity minutes of each workout if you tap the intensity minute tile and then scroll down past the graph. It is cumbersome but they are still there.
