It’s terrible.

  • They’re going to feel it when they start losing customers. Of all the comments, I’ve only seen two people who like it and, one other who said they “didn’t mind” it. Everyone else says it sucks. I wonder what the next quarterly report, or two, will reflect.

  • next quarterly report

They could always lay off more programmers and real designers to get the numbers up, they don't need them.

  • I wonder what the next quarterly report, or two, will reflect.

So that we have a comparison later, here is the current Quarterly Report from the first quarter of 2024:

    -------

As a note: It is not uncommon, especially in the fitness/outdoor industry (whether running shoe manufacturers or other equipment), for the first quarterly figures of each year to be better than the following ones.

This is due to the fact that many people make a decision at the beginning of each year to "improve themselves this year, live healthily and keep fit".
Accordingly, more equipment is mostly bought at the beginning of each year than in the following months.

These effects exist in many sectors. More construction takes place in summer, so the construction industry booms better in summer than in winter. And so on.

Short periods of time do not necessarily allow a qualitative statement to be made.

It is therefore advisable to take a longer-term view of the figures.

  • This post was part of a discussion about sleep and has nothing to do with the home-page. Now they are combined.

    WHY???

  • I saw a response in red from Garmin about keeping things civil. I haven't noticed any name calling of particular individuals, but yes: Garmin you are on the receiving end of a LOT of complaints. Over 75 pages of complaints about your unliked and hated "upgrade".

I was curious about how someone said that Garmin cannot go back. Sure they can: they have working backups of the old software version. No software company deletes that kind of resource and infrastructure. Garmin is just being stubborn.

I haven't worn my vivoactive4 for a couple of weeks, after it became unusable via the app or on my computer. Seems like a lot of others have done something similar. Moving on to other providers.

In the end Garmin, it is your call: keep your customers happy or lose them.

  • Please explain the rationale for forcing an “upgrade” on highly dissatisfied customers. I’m not a “complainer’” Thus is the first time I’ve ever posted complaints on line. I’m more than frustrated. I hate the “upgrade” and will ditch Garmin soon if there is no option to go back to the old format.

  • Fix it or lose me as a customer/user. The “upgrade” is terrible.

  • Fire the garmin connect project management team. You had perfect and you tried to make look like Peloton’s app.

  • My wife and I have used Garmin watched, scales, maps, and Chest HRM for many years.  (several different models.)  I purchased the Venu 3 four weeks ago.  With Garmin Connect App I had no reason to shop other products

Had this new version become live prior to my purchase I would have looked at other choices.  I may not change but I will look.

Garmin should review the “kiss” theory.

I can’t change what is; so I will adapt for now.  But future purchases are up for review.

Sure hope Garmin gets this worked out.

  • Awful. Fire your app product design team. You dropped all the front page functionality I use daily. Which is also a big reason I recommended garmin to people for the last 4 years

Funny - I just did a Peloton survey of their app telling them they were in 3rd grade while Garmin connect was PhD level.  Oops, you’ve reverted to elementary school. Curious, did you hire yyour product team from peloton?

So, can you please offer a rollback option?

Honestly, I would consider using different hardware to get a better app experience.
