Garmin Connect Mobile Updated Home Page

It’s terrible.

  • For the love of god change the Home Screen back to the way it was. I can’t stand this idiotic new layout. Having read other posts it’s apparent other users feel the same way. I’m now seriously considering dumping Garmin

  • You are most welcome. It is limited in that we can't customize the activity categories we see, we are stuck with what Garmin gives us and they lump out workouts into those but at least it is a nice tidy list and not those big clunky tiles.

  • Same. I change to another brand. New app is terrible.

  • "If the clock has ended sleep, what happened after that is a "nap".""

Which is the problem: the clock in this case should not have ended the sleep. An brief interruption at 8.30 should not be handled differently from one at 5.30 or 2.30

  • Me too why fix something if its not broke! The new connect is utter shite! Poop

I have linked you to the document from Garmin's HRV system, which explains how sleep is determined. Sleep is sleep. If you have got up and your body functions (HR etc.) have increased to such an extent that they can no longer be assigned to a sleep phase, then you are no longer sleeping.

The deciding factor as to whether going back to bed afterwards is still classified as sleep is generally

    A) Time (how long you were awake from the time you woke up until you went back to sleep)
    B) How active you were

    C) - an important factor: do you even get back into one of the decisive sleep phases when you lie down again. The algorithm can determine this better than subjective perception.

So if you don't get back into a phase that can be considered sleep, you take a nap.

  • We need to set up a PETITION so garmin can see how much the update is Hated and improve it or have the option for the old version

  • When I went to bed last night around 11:30 p.m., I saw all the comments. I decided to answer those this morning.

    By now that seems useless.

The text at sleep stated (translated from Dutch): "uninterrupted sleep". Huh, I had gone to the toilet. Looked closely at the graph this time and indeed, it started at 2:36. Or about 3 hours of sleep just missing. Scrolling back, this appeared to be more common. In other words, of the hours of sleep, nothing is right at all.

This combined with some comments seems that "sleep" performs in the following way"

    - Every interruption for toilet gives a reset

    - If the reset is at night, then the part before sleep is gone and the part after is sleep

    - Is the reset during the day, then the part before is sleep and the part after is nap.

In all cases, none of the given values are correct.

PS. I just read Bluefish's latest post. I haven't gotten to the document yet, but will definitely read it later this weekend. In themselves, the rules mentioned make sense. Practice seems a lot more unruly, as the above shows.

    Body battery
Below the screenshots with the previously used values. Possibly I will come back to this later as a result of the HRV document (could be Sunday or Monday).

    No Problem here.

One more question. Do you wear the watch 24/7 all the time? What kind of strap do you use? Metal ? Silicone ? Nylon ? Do you wear the watch tight enough so that it fits well and the HR sensor rests well on the skin at night ? (If possible, you should not be able to see the light from the green or red LEDs).
