Garmin Connect Mobile Updated Home Page

It’s terrible. 

  • Really poor. Did Garmin involve any customers in reviewing the UI? They could use some UX consulting. For sure the previous version was more concise and user friendly. Adding tiles is very rudimentary and lacking creativity. The user interface is cumbersome and not esthetic.

  • Ditto here.  I suggested they conduct a virtual UXUI working group / scum with customers with UXUI background.  At least you have people who actually use the product.  Another option would be to conduct a SWOT analysis to capture what they are good at/not and what opportunities are out there to capitalize on.  The only other thing I added was the project lead and her/his leadership team should all be fired.

  • Community - Go give the app 1 star rating in your App Store.  Garmin takes that more seriously than community complaints.  This will tarnish their image, they absolutely do not want negative reviews.

    Garmin is trying to grow their business and appeal to the casual fitness consumer, not those who love rich detail of their data at a glance.

    Just download the Fitbit app and you can see how Garmin in trying to model the “big cards” with little info model that fitbit is doing.

    Garmin is embracing the fitness app for dummies model.  

    Garmin gets a C- in app utility and an A in attempting to grow their business. That said I switched to apple, I find it does a fine job collecting stats and offers a wide range of great apps to view my  workout data

  • Good point on the App Store.   However most people who purchase won’t look here.  I wonder if center of gravity is user reviews of Garmin Devices (everywhere they are sold) (Amazon, Amazon, Best Buy, Bass Pro)

  • It is awful. Really perplexed how they thought this was an improvement. The previous version was excellent and all in one screen. Really unhappy with it. Is there an option to revert to the previous version?

  • It’s awful & really disappointing. Why change something that was working beautifully?! I hope Garmin acknowledge this fail & revert to the previous version. Love my Garmin but this version makes it feel useless. Not sure I’ll stick with them for my next Smart Watch now.
