It’s terrible.
Can we please just have the option to go to the old version
Utterly awful. Used to be clean, on one page and easy to see. Now have to scroll to find things. Poor work Garmin
I agree that it is terrible, I was so at home with the previous format and now am all at sea. Please can it be changed or give users the option to revert back?
Did Garmin really update this post to add a link to the FAQ which everyone is already aware basically says "tough, it's not changing" ?
I thought perhaps this was just poor testing and there was hope they would listen to their users, but now it just looks like complete arrogance and really not caring about customers at all.
That is a horrible sort “fu” response - to all the Garmin users.
I’ve stopped using my Vivoactive 4 and moved the GC app to the last of my iPhone screens. I now onlyUse it for when I ride my bike and transfer the information to Strava.
ill be moving to a wahoo bike computer (just ordered one of these - https://www.wahoofitness.com/devices/bike-computers/elemnt-bolt-buy ) and either sell or throw away my Vivoactive and edge 130.
Way to lose customers Garmin.
I wonder if this will fiasco will start showing up in the future sports business classes at universities as an example on how to completely fail at engaging the community you support? That is, this is pretty much a very clear demonstration of how to fail to increase the customer's satisfaction with a company's product. And then: even to frustrate them. And then I wonder if the class will touch on how, over the next years, Garmin saw huge losses in the numbers of purchases by the runner/biker/swimmer/ etc community and their movement to other platforms - because they were adamant that this was a modern design and felt it best to ignore the users.
Oh, a kind we-don't-care-reply.
You can't, it's not possible to reverse to the old version.
No, it is much worse. For years now I have been annoyed to no end by the major inconsistencies in the iPhone and iPad app. A few examples, which I noticed again in the most recent version:
I reported on this at length years ago in the Apple shop. I never got the impression that anything was done about it by Garmin..
I think if I start testing seriously again -which I have absolutely no intention of doing- I will have many pages full again in no time. From a 35-year ICT career some hint for Garmin:
And if Garmin don't want that (and they don't want much I get the impression):
Until this happens, the whole app will remain what it has been for years: an incosistent user-unfriendly mess.
Absolute musts for a new version:
- Improved landing screen
- Full-screen for iPad
- Create your own screen with number of desired fields for specific custom goals
If I sit down for a moment, I effortlessly come up with more useful functionality, but unfortunately Garmin doesn't pay me for that.
By the way, I helped them quite a bit in their economic growth with all equipment I bought. Time they return that with a functioning app.
The new layout is Terrible. And I am not saying that because the newer one is different. The older layout presented information in a more simple way, nearly everything fit on one screen without the need to scroll down.
The new layouy is an inefficient use of space. Give us the rows back.
I don’t like it at all and it’s not recording my activity so I’ve lost lots of vitality points since this stupid update
