  • Many (including myself) have said that adding weight is more complicated. If you have IOS you can long-press the app icon and add weight from the home screen. Is the quickest way to add weight.

Hope this helps one of your many struggles with the app!

  • Please switch it back!!!

After this terrible update my battery suddenly drains much faster. 50% after 1 night of sleep. Normally I could charge my watch once every 3 days. Every day now! I have not changed any settings and have not logged any more activities.

Why does the battery suddenly empty much faster after this update? Are there more people who suffer from this?

  • I hadn't noticed this bc I always just charge mine every day when I shower but yes! I'm usually at like 80% after 1 day and I just looked and am at 65%!

  • Excerpt from Wareable's article: Garmin Connect app update: Everything new from the major design overhaul

After a few months of using Garmin Connect 5.0, our experience has been largely improved.

Garmin has changed what it needed to (the main dashboard) without watering down the experience by simplifying the secondary menus.

We spent so much time in the old version of Garmin Connect that we began to accept the slightly clunky, endlessly scrolling nature of the dashboard, but there's no doubt the richer cards are an improvement.

  • Lol how much did wearable get paid to write this garbage for garmin.  The "richer cards" don't update on the home screen so yes you do have to open them. Every single one of them in fact to get the info you want.  And now i do have to scroll endlessly and continue to open different pages Vs just opening garmin and seeing everything.

  • Exactly this!! Everything at a glance vs an unnecessary number of tiles on your home screen. Please put it back, this is totally worthless and doesn't add anything.

Apart from that... what I find much worse is that after the last update my Garmin Forerunner 945 runs out very quickly!
Normally it took 4-5 days with a battery and now it has to be charged 2x a day.

After 1 night of sleep of 8 hours, the battery is from 100% to 49% percentage. I didn't change anything in the settings. Have the pulse ox meter turned off. What I would like to know is if there are more people with this problem. I would like to know from Garmin how this can be solved because I read this on several forums and believe that there is indeed a connection between the so-called update and the battery drain.

  • And now what? Is Garmin going to do anyting with this poll? Hopefully they listen to their users!

  • With how I've always preferred to have it, the scrolling hasn't changed much. 5.0 could be needing less, but that's obviously with In Focus turned off. Here's an example using iPhone and iPad—yes that's how it still looks in the iPad.

Notice the reduction in contrast in the 'Last 7 Days' between numbers and text. It's visually dull and carry less impact than the slightly larger icons on the left which are the focus. Also, there could've been an option for expanding a card in 'At a Glance' to avoid having an empty space. Similar to what the Microsoft Surface did with its tiles. I added HRV just to fill this space.

A noticeable difference is that when it hasn't been synched the old layout didn't display the tiles while in 5.0 they're fixed.

I still believe there's no need to display the word 'Home' at the top. Maybe for consistency with other sections that also include it...

  • Not happy with the update. Stopped using connect. Looking for a new fitness tracker. Still like my Epix for golf but it’s useless for workouts now. I just can’t motivate myself into liking the tile format. At least Windows allows you to use a list view.
