Disappointing new Garmin Connect App (v.5.0 iOS)

Very disappointed that the settings of the new version of Garmin Connect for iOS do carry over to the web version…. It now takes me multiple clicks to look at my pace history or any other matrix I was watching the trends in various tiles.  Same for shoe mileage and I could go on and on.  Could you please decouple the app settings and those of the website, it would be so much better for us to choose what we want to see on a larger screen!!

  • I also am very disappointed with the v5 iOS update and the tied web update. Hard to believe someone actually thinks this is a better UI. It is so much harder to see a summary of data in the larger tiles. Crazy.

  • Yes - PLEASE Garmin, decouple the web and mobile views. I like to keep the information in the mobile app simple, but have more on screen when I'm using a browser. The old arrangement worked perfectly for me but I'm betting Garmin won't revert the changes...

  • Yes, I do not want chunky cards resulting in scrolling and swiping to find what I'm looking for! Also cards displaying fe heart rate in real time will drain battery. Please please please bring back the list view!

And also why is it not possible to choose whatever metrics I want to display, but only from predefined categories? As of now I can't add HRV... So stupid!

And yeah, it broke the web as well...

  • I'm a longtime Garmin user, and this new app UI is horrible. I was not part of the beta and just got the app update from the App Store, does anyone know if there's a way to revert back to the old UI?

  • No way to revert according to this link - support.garmin.com/.../

  • Agree - why eliminate a simple list view of the metrics. So frustrating.

  • reading that link, it sounds like they changed the UI for the sake of change.... it came out 2017, so we had to do something new with it

  • I came here just to express my frustration and disappointment with the new UI -- absolutely horrible. Whoever came up with that needs to find a different profession.

The old version presented useful information with a minimum of scrolling. The new version only displays two metrics completely and requires scrolling to see more on a iPhone 15 Pro. Also, reordering is buggy, and limiting the At A Glance view to eight metrics is dumb.

  • Why on earth would you change the UI??? This new home screen wastes so much space just with titles such as Today's Activity & At a Glance. Way to make me have to scroll so UNNECCESARILY. The tiles are HUGE and show less data than the list view. I am so disappointed. I just switched from FitBit because Google made their app unusable. God, please change it back to the list view. Or at least give users the option to choose!!

    • Gave so much beta feedback about the lack of data you are able to see before scrolling. Give us an option at least like the last version to minimize into a list of data instead of tiles.
