Watch keeps receiving breaking news... how can I disable those alerts/

My vivoactive 4 watch keeps receiving Breaking News alerts (they come with a small purple icon). For the life of me, I have no idea where they are coming from? They have been poping up since my watch was brand new. I looked at all the settings I can think of, to no avail.

I use the Connect app on my iPhone.

Please anyone, for my sanity, tell me how to turn this off.

I am having the same issue! I can't figure out where they're coming phone as they don't show on my phone at all. I've poured over the Connect App settings and can't seem to find anything.

Reddit is a common culprit.

Hey, thanks to everyone who tried to help me with this issue. I found the solution to my problem. ... As it happens, a few months ago, the New York Times app on my iPhone got an update. Unknown to me at the time is that the update enabled notifications (such as breaking news). As weird as it is, those notifications were not showing on my phone, but were sent to my Garmin watch. Those unwanted notifications stopped immediately after I disabled notifications in the NY Times app.

It would not be surprising that notifications from other iPhone apps may behave in a same way. Thus, disabling notifications directly on the iPhone for apps from which we see alerts on the watch might be the way to go.
