Watch stuck on event day

I had an event last week. The watch did a great job leading up to the event with training suggestions, etc. However, since then every single day it thinks it's still event day. All of my insights say that it's event day. After a workout it says "great event" or a variation of that. I can't see any real insights into my day or stress or body battery because the watch still thinks it's event day.
This is happening for myself and my wife on two different watches (FR955 solar & FR255S).
How do I make this stop? It's driving us insane! Definitely makes us want to remove any further events we have lined up from the Garmin calendar.

  • I've got exactly the same on my FR265 since last week. For seven days now I am on event day.
I've tried changing event priorities, adding & removing a training plan, changing my age, changed heart rate zones, max HR, etc. Nothing helped to kick it back into action. I was really enjoying the daily suggested workouts, but after a week of debugging the watch, I am getting pretty disappointed by now.

  • I’m also having the same problem on my garmin fenix 7. Tried power down and hard reset but not fixed it Persevere

    • I've figured it out!
Nothing I was trying worked (including joining the Connect Beta program for faster updates) but how I fixed it on both watches was to go into the Connect app and go to the day which I had my event on - if you click on that day you can see your race and lower down you can see the event which you created. That one you delete. Not the race portion, just the calendar event.
Then everything goes back to normal. No more 'event days' every single day or any similar sort of useless info. Fixed!
I hope the people struggling with this see my solution as it's not something which was immediately obvious to me, but it works and is a lot easier than tearing your hair out and getting nowhere...
  • Thanks mate, had same situation, but solved now :)
