Course transfer error - golf

I have never been able to load a golf course onto my Venu 2s. I’ve tried all of the tips I’ve found online to get it to transfer but nothing has help. It says my phone and watch are connected on my Garmin connect app. Below is what I’ve tried, it’s very frustrating and seems to be a common issue but interested to know if there’s an easy solution or a fix I haven’t tried yet. 

  • deleting all courses I’ve downloading, restarting watch and phone, redownloading the courses and syncing 
  • deleting the app and reinstalling
