Foot pod

Hi, I have a Venus 2 . My issue is I use the treadmill and hold on for balance. My watch only records a third of how far I run and therefore my VO2 reading is very poor. So if I get a foot pod and as a result my app records a more accurate distance, will this improve my VO2 reading? The new Garmin pod is not compatible with my watch, does anyone know of a compatible foot pod for a Venus 2 ? I have seen the old style Garmin foot pods on secondhand sights, would these work on the Venus 2? Many Thanks

VO₂max is not being measured on the treadmill. If you ever got a VO₂max value, then it was just based on the all-day HR, which is an extremely approximative value which cannot be taken seriously. Go out, and do outdoor runs with GPS. Only then you will get proper VO₂max data.

If you really have to hold on the railing, you can attach the watch to the ankle. However, I rather recommend running naturaly, swinging your arms freely, if you do not want to completely destroy your body.

And rather than the Foot Pod, I recommend buying the HRM-Pro chest belt. Although your watch will not read the advanced Running Dynamics from it, besides the improved HRM accuracy, you will get also a more accurate distance and pace estimate. You need to calibrate it first with outdoors runs, though.
