Connect Mobile App Set Up - Health or Fitness?

I am still waiting on my watch to arrive in the mail, but I wanted to go ahead and download the app so that I could familiarize myself with it. One of the first things that it asks is "how do you plan to use the app" and gives you two options: health or fitness. I was just clicking through and accidentally clicked fitness and now, I have no way to go back and change it. Is there a way to change it that I haven't figured out or will it even make a difference with me using the app?

  • I’m not sure it makes a difference but just delete the app and reinstall it later if you want. When you get your watch and connect  then your data is stired on watch and Garmin servers and it will just populate app again if you remove watch.

    a couple of tips.

search for your watch manual and download it to give you an overview.

When you get your watch, connect to computer by cable and use Garmin Express to sync your watch and do the updates of software, maps etc (normally a few). You log in with Garmin account. You just Add Device in Express and away you go. Disconnect after software updates and connect again to finalise.

After using Express, disconnect cable, and using same Garmin account, open Connect Mobile on phone. Then in Connect Mobile on phone, find Add Device plus on your watch menu find Phone and select Pair Phone. (Do not go into phone Bluetooth and pair your watch initially. Once your watch is paired in Connect it will appear in your phones Bluetooth.)

Finally, there’s additional information like Reporting in the web version of Connect. I run a web version in my phone’s browser and on computer. The interface is a bit clunky but worth checking. In Connect Mobile, you have menu items for Health and for Performance.
