Connect Hydrow to garmin connect

I use my garmin epix for HR when rowing. How do I connect Hydrow rowing machine so rowing data is logged in garmin connect.

  • You need to make your Epix broadcast HR during exercise. There is a setting for it. However,  Garmin doesn’t calculate load from Hydrow exercises. It will only show heart rate and number of strokes.

  • Thanks. I broadcast HR to my Hydrow but no data goes to garmin connect app.
Hydrow syncs with strava. Would be good if they could do the same and allow rows to sync to garmin connect

  • In my case, it connects to my Garmin connect but only shows HR and strokes. The main index I want to get is exercise load. Otherwise, I can row hard for an hour, but the Garmin connects thinks it is no big deal, no load data, and I am actually detraining lol. Garmin and Hydrow should sit down together and fix it.

  • I just looked at their website and i think its all up to Hydrow. There are 2 ways they can fix it:
    - broadcast via ANT/BT like C2. The computer on the Rower would connect as a trainer to the watch, you start a rowing activity and the watch measures HR and receives stroke rate and distance and watts from the Rower. The watch will combine all of that like on a bike ride and calculate load etc.

    - Export all that information via API (didn’t find anything about the Hydrow -> Garmin connect connections).

If you want to push Hydrow, try to encourage them for version 1. This would work with all watches, not only Garmin but also Coros (for example). Garmin already has both thinks enabled, in their watches and in their API.
