Goal pace repeats not working properly

On Garmin coach the goal pace repeat is not working properly. It doesn’t tell me when to start, the pace to maintain or when to change pace. I’ve done two pace intervals with the same problem. A message ‘Until lap press’ comes up but when I press the button it terminates the workout. How do I fix this problem?

  • To mark a lap, you should press the bottom button on your vivoactive 4s. If you press the top button, however, it will stop the workout. Regarding the pace though, did you setup an alert to go off using the steps here -  ?

  • Hi Sara,

I thought it would automatically tell me if the pace I was doing was too fast or too slow and when to run at the goal pace or jog more slowly and when to transition. I’m supposed to run at goal pace for 600m then jog for 400m and repeat four times but I have no idea when to transition. I’ve checked with someone else who is also doing the coach and It automatically does that for him. It also does it for all the other types of runs I’ve done so far in the Garmin coach. That way I know exactly when to warmup, run and cool down.
    Thanks

  • If it says "Until lap press" it will continue with that step until you press the lap button (bottom right button). If the target for a workout step is a pace then you will see your current page on the watch and whether you are high, low or on target.
