Once Again…Upload Failed to iPhone

Not for the first time and surely not the last… I did a cycle recorded on my Edge 810 and tried to upload via iPhone Connect app and got the upload failed message. Tried the usual reboot of the Garmin, reboot of the phone, disconnect and reconnect and still nothing. Recorded a 10 second activity and it uploads fine. The actual activity I want appears ok on the Garmin - I.e. not corrupted.

This is a regular occurrence and to fix I’ve had to connect to a laptop and upload manually but I am abroad on a training camp with no laptop with me.

Very frustrating!! Anyone had this issue / found a fix?

  • Possible if you can get a hold of an Android phone, and you have a mini to type-C USB cable, then it would be basically like your laptop. That's assuming the activity .fit file is not corrupted.

If you've enabled LiveTrack with "Extend Session Visibility," and it's not past 24 hours ago, you might be able to use a converter, such as LiveTrack export (dsantini.it). Keep in mind that doing it this way, you'll be missing a lot of the metrics you would typically have. You'll have the track on a map, elevation, pace, and heart rate, but not much more.
