Indoor Rad

Ich habe Problem beim indoor Radfahren. Es wird nur die Dauer angezeigt aber nicht die Distanz und auch nicht die Space/Geschwindigkeit. Was kann ich da tun?

  • The bike must have a speed sensor so it can send the data to your watch. Either the bike got it built-in or your need to attach a speed sensor to the bike.

  • Okay! Thank you for your answer. So if it is a bike in a Fitnessstudio, I have to ask them if the bikes there have a speed sensor and if not I have to buy one right? And this sensor I have to connect with my Garmin watch right?

  • Yes. It can be hard to mount a speed sensor on fitness bikes. It must be mounted on the wheel and measure the number of rotations. You also need to input the circumference of the wheel. The number of rotations multiplied with the circumference will be traveled distance.

  • Well, if the fitness bike has no gear (it means when it has fixed ratio between the pedals and the flywheel), then you can attach the speed sensor to your shoe. If you calibrate it accordingly, it will report the distance and the speed correctly too. I tested it with the Garmin Speed Sensor 2.

However, modern bikes in fitness centers very often do have speed, cadence, and often even power sensors available. All you need to do, is going to the menu Sensors & Accessories on the watch, and connecting them. Just make sure to start moving (otherwise the sensors may no be visible), and take care that you are connecting sensors of your bike, and not the ones of your neighbor Wink

  • True. You just have to calculate what distance each pedal revolution equals and enter that into the watch.

  • Thank you for this answer. I will try it out and hope that it will work!Smiley
