Calorie data field

My Garmin 935 is making some errant calorie calculations. My Ang HR is consistently 135-140 for my 60 minute bike sessions but the calorie estimates range between 750 - 240. What is reason for this?

  • 750 Calories for an hour of effort at 140 bpm sounds reasonable for an average person. If you get only 240 Calories, then there are several possibilities - quite high 7 days avg. Resting HR on the concerned day, and/or exaggerated Max HR value, low breathing rate or low HR during most of the activity, some irregularities in the data, or lost data due to a watch crash and reboot during the activity, inadvertently changed body weight, and perhaps a few others. Hard to tell without seeing the detailed data.

If you post links to comparable activities with the 750 vs 240 Calories, and screenshots showing the historical records of the 7 days avg. Resting HR, Max HR, and weight on the concerned days, perhaps we can see the reason better.
