Training effect

Since a couple of days the Training effect will not be calculated anymore for external (imported) trainings.

I use a Waterrower with Smartrow and unfortunately there is no other way to get all the data like pace, split, distances into Garmin Connect than via a 3rd party app. So I had imported successfully over months all my training data (HR, pace, Power …) via RunGap to Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect then calculated the Training effect based on the given data. This helps me to understand and adapt my training. And furthermore it influenced and goes into the calculation of my training status even without native watch training like running or swimming.

Now it seems, the Training effect is not calculated anymore.

Is there an intention to it bring back as it worked until end of December?

We do not know, and Garmin will not tell. All you can do is contacting the Support and asking them, but I doubt they will tell you. You can also submit a request to bring it back through the form at Share Ideas | Garmin, but if Garmin took it away intentionally, there is little chance they will change their mind.

Currently, the solution would be recording all your activities with a Garmin device.
