Garmin swim 2 does not stay connected to the app

I have an IPhone 11 and a swim 2 and when I close the app the watch doesn’t sync when it is closed and I can’t use some of the music controls is there anyway to fix this? I tried repairing the watch to the app and it didn’t fix the problem
