I do not think that anyone is working on a fix, since there is no known general issue. Millions of Garmin's users continue to sync without problems. In your place, I would try the standard troubleshooting, and if it does not help, call the Support.
Thanks. I followed the troubleshooting advice by downloading the express.garmin.com app onto windows, plugged in the watch and it seemed to clear what ever the issue was.
