This issue resurfaced recently in the current version of the app 4.73.1 and earlier. Basically the app is using location in the background all the time, which drains the battery.
I switched phones yesterday as well, so not even reinstall or ios factory reset will solve this issue.
Changing the location services setting to "Only while using" might help, but that's not a fix for the bug itself, just a workaround. I haven't found any other way to contact the support besides posting here.
