Manually add steps/information or pull info from iPhone health app

Hi, I’ve recently bought myself a vivoactive4 and I’ve seen that quite a few people have raised this concern and I feel it’s probably for similar reasoning.

I’d love to see a feature ideally have it so the Garmin connect app pulled information from the iPhone health, however I feel allowing an option to manually add steps is a reasonable compromise.

I'm not able to wear my watch during work hours however I do have quite a bit of activity and steps that I’d like to incorporate with my daily records on the Garmin connect app.

Whilst I understand it allows someone to “cheat” their targets or a level of inaccuracy. It’s essentially doing that not having that information as well. Additionally, you can manually add distance and pace on a treadmill in an exercise which will adjust the accuracy of the watch so I don’t really see how that’s any different.

Honestly, kind of thought it was a standard function to have, it really limits the efficiency of the Connect report not being able to manually add steps.

(I did see people saying about changing the time and adding it that way) but surely it’s not a hard function to add in a software update. There’s several people wanting it, why shouldn’t the option be added?

  • It isn't possible to manually add or import steps into Garmin Connect and it is very unlikely it will be added.

Instead put your watch in your pocket if you can't wear it during the day. That way it will count steps and report it into your Garmin account.
