The steps are dropping down to the same number of steps

Hi, I have a Venu 3s and today I had 8 265steps, I went for a walk, then I had for more than 9000 steps but suddenly it dropped down to 8265 steps again. When I walk, the steps increase but after a moment the drop down again to 8265. Do you know how do I fix it please? Thank you
