Active calories from bike ride not in total calories

So yesterday I went for a bike ride, which I recorded with the Edge 540. I did also wear my Forerunner 265. The bike ride showed up correctly in Garmin connect, with 460 active calories. But in the calory tab my active calories are only the ones which the forerunner  tracked the rest of the day.

Until yesterdax I've had never had this issue (even the day before it worked fine) ... can anyone help? Did I accidentally change a setting?

  • If you have further conversations with anyone feel free to use this conversation as ammo if you choseThumbsup tone2

  • I’ve had issues as well.  Fenix 7. Tracking health metrics.  Rides outside of Garmin connect.  Fit file imported in.  MFT adjusting calories.  GC can find workout.  It’s in there under history library.  But zero health metric adjustment from workout as well as calories not adjusted

  • Yo,

Don’t know why or how but calories went in from MFP today.    90 min cycling workout though didn’t even get acknowledged on fitness load.  That’s with about 800 calories burned.   Thought would update you.  Hope it’s working for you ,

    cheersCoffee

  • Hi, do you have any update on this topic? I have the same issue with my 1040 and FR265

  • Do you have an update on this topic? Have the same issue with my 1040 and FR265

    1. Garmin support told me that they're working on it. They told me to switch off the watch while recording the bike ride on the 540 and that has been working perfectly!
  • Thank you for your quick reply! So there is still no dedicated fix? Bummer..

Do you mean completely switching it off, or just leaving it at home for example?

And how is your priority regarding devices set? Do you have your 540 set as your primary training device?

  • Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it. Very disappointing from Garmin, especially since this has been an issue for quite some time now.

Yes, I'm switching it off completely. I haven't tried just leaving it at home.
No, I still have the watch set as my primary training device.

  • Same issue for me. It is not consistent though. Happened twice in the last two weeks for the first time.

I wear an Epix Pro as my primary device. I use an Edge 1040 on the bike. Two times those Edge Ride active calories are not populating in the calorie in/out section.

  • I did a quick indoor test ride and confirmed that it is also incorrect for me. Record ride on Edge, wear watch but don’t track the activity on watch.

Active calories immediately before my ride 676 (Garmin Connect and Watch)
Active calories recorded from the ride 164 (shown in the activity on GC)
Active calories after ride 757 (Garmin Connect and Watch)

So Garmin Connect shows an increase of 81 active calories rather than 164. The only diverges further, the longer and more intense I ride. If I take the watch off it is correct.
