Instinct 2S can‘t connect to phone after iOS upgrade

After upgrade to iOS 17.01 my Garmin Instinct 2S won‘t connect to the Garmin Connect App anymore. Things I‘ve tried are:

Checked that both devices have Bluetooth on

Restarted both devices

Removed watch from Garmin connect app

Removed watch from iPhone Bluetooth settings

Tried pairing several times

Any advice or feedback would be appreciated.

    I want to give you all an update on this issue in case somebody else encounters something similar.

    I think that this issue was acutually not caused by iOS but rather a combination of old watch software and possibly the new iOS update. I realized that I hadn't updated my watch software so I enable "Automatic Updates" and got a message about a new software which I installed. By chance I also happened to update my IOS to 17.01.

    I'm not sure what happened during the watch update process but afterwards the battery was draining like crazy and I couldn't connect to my phone anymore. The next day I decided to connect the watch to my computer using Garmin Express. It immediately showed another pending update which I also installed. Afterwards it seemed like everything was normal again, I was also able to pair the watch with my phone again.

    I'm still not sure what happened there, possibly I updated to a faulty intermediate version.

    Anyway, hopefully this helps some of you guys.
