Latest update on the connect app - can no longer edit sleep
I agree. I can only edit last night. After that edit menu changes to Help option. I don't always notice the next day that it mistook a bathroom trip for my bedtime.
I think it has to do with the badge you can get for being a Sleep Savant.
I work nights. I’m a nurse. I’m too busy on a stretch of nights to go and manually edit my sleep each day. What I usually do is go in at the end of my stretch and edit the missing sleep times using my heart rate. With only being able to edit sleep for the current day, sure I’m not getting the badge but more importantly, I’m not able to accurately track my slept hours.
Is it possible to let us edit the missing data and only get the badge if the edits are made for the current day? I would like the badge but I’d rather be able to track my sleep hours in retrospect.
This is a new horrible update on Garmin Connect; we can no longer edit the earlier nights' sleep times; you can only edit the last night's! If their watches could detect sleep correctly, I would not complain, but they are far from perfect and must be corrected constantly. If you forget to do it immediately and try to do the correction the next day, you can no longer do it. You can only edit last night!!! How is this a useful, good update for the community and users?
You can edit the last night, and that's indeed sufficient in very most cases. If you exceptionally need to edit an older day, you can still do it: change the date on your phone to the older date, and than you'll be able to edit the sleep time of that day. When done, change the system date to the automated mode again.
And that is the solution you are giving me? It is insufficient for me and most people posting here after using its watches for several years. They do not measure sleep correctly. Not sure why you wanted to respond to this post, as you did not say anything new. Your suggestion of changing the phone date had no meaning and goes against anything about good software design.
Hi UserFromNewtonMA, trux is good about giving workarounds. I can appreciate that, as many of his suggestions have benefited me. This is mostly a user-to-user forum where we try to help each other if possible. If you want a permanent solution, it would be best to communicate directly with Garmin using the Garmin Support Center where you can voice your concerns by opening a support ticket. My guess is that many already have and you would simply be added to the ticket and be notified if and when the software is updated.
