Is there a way to ensure more accurate step counts while pushing a stroller?

When I’m out for a run or walk with my littlest one and I’m pushing the stroller the step count is EXTREMELY low in comparison to the step count when I go alone and not pushing anything. I used to just put my device on my ankle but my new wristband does not allow for that. Is there a way to ensure a more accurate step count while pushing the stroller?

  • Most accurate is probably to get yourself a HRM Pro or Pro Plus chest strap and add it to Garmin Connect. It will then log your steps. But it is easy to forget to put the chest strap on and you probably don't want to use a chest strap on every walk.

You can put the watch in your pocket. It will log most steps or maybe all.

If the length is the problem, you can use a piece of your old wristband as a wristband extender, or buy one for a few bucks online, or in a local diveshop (it is commonly used by divers when attaching a watch over the wetsuit).

Apart from carrying the watch in a pocket, or in a handback, you could perhaps also push the stroller with just one hand, or tap the handlebar in the rhythm of the steps.
