v4.70 App Changes

Can we just go back to the old interface? It wasn’t broken and I feel like it was better streamlined than it is now. Why is there such a larger emphasis on the route map? Why are my my shoe miles broken into a new tab now? This redesign is awful.

Sincerely,

a designer

  • I really do not like the latest layout of new new update and lots and lots of people feel the same! Please can you go back to the 3 circles? It was much much better that way Pray

  • I agree it’s crap interface. That’s why I put the differentiator within the viewable area and use same syntax. Eg NB Heirro Blue or NV Heirro Red ( in the nockname area of gear).

Noted about issue entering wrong gear but it’s not forever. Just go to Add / Remove gear again.

of course, the simple answer is for Garmin to fix the interface. I’m just trying to offer workable solutions. I use about 6 pairs of shoes and then ‘retire’ old ones in the gear section once disposed.

    all the best

  • Ryan, agree that this is the most simple work around until Garmin sort this out. Appreciate the exchange on this issue.

  • Why can’t we edit our sleep after 24 hrs? I don’t usually sync everyday. I hate that I can’t edit my sleep time

  • I agree with you, i submitted a suggestion.  I loved the circle overview because it gave you a quick snapshot of your activity.  Now you have to take 2 snapshot and your notes are viewable. I vote to make it a configurable option.

  • Circles with simple summary of kilometers on particular gears was perfect…. Now I need to have two snapshots. What is totally unproductive.
bring back initial design. I dont see one good feature after update.

  • After your activity is synced, go to the Activity Type and change it to Mountaineering.  This will give you the circled view again.  It's clunky but at least you have one snapshot.  Another way is to change the Activity Type to Hiking and at least you can see the Total Ascent in one page but I still don't like the view.

  • Bring back the circles. This map interface SUCKS

  • True. I too loved the 3 circles. It was a cool way to send a screen shot to your mates about your ride.

However, more seriously, this new format is absolutely not screen-friendly nor eye-friendly and is contra to modern app format presentations on smartphones. Garmin have gone violently backwards. Whoever signed off this new update hasn'tr yet entered C21 and especially not year 2023. Maybe he was an old guy stuck in the MsDos era?
