Unable to switch only weather between Centigrade and Fahrenheit in settings following recent update to GCM

Hi,

Today (18th Aug 23) there was an update to GCM that removed the ability to toggle only the weather units between Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Before I was able to keep the weather in metric and leave everything else in UK statue. Now everything including the weather has to be in statute or metric.

Please can you put this feature back to the way it was please?

Thanks

  • Weather units can be set in the settings of the Weather widget, directly on the watch (scroll to the widget and press the Menu button)

  • Hi trux, thanks for your reply. The weather widget on the watch is set to Celsius and this is fine.

The problem I'm referring to is the temperature displayed on any recorded activity shown within the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

  • AFAIK, there was never a separate setting for the temperature, and it was always depending on the global settings of Measurement Units in Garmin Connect app » Settings » User Settings.

  • In the Garmin Connect App there was a toggle solely against weather to switch between units.

I'm using an Epix gen 2. Just checked the following so might be a bug or garmin just removed the feature:

On the watch: system>format>units>temperature... this is set to celcius

On the app: select Epix Pro then settings>system>format>untis>temperature... this is set to celcius

on the app: select more>settings>user settings>measurement units> this is set to statute uk but now appears to be a global setting which includes temperature. This is what's changed since the app update. The effect is that all my recorded workouts now annoyingly show fahrenheit rather than centigrade.

  • Statute UK setting will display weather in Fahrenheit rather than Celsius. Therefore, if you'd like the weather to display in Celsius, you'll want to switch this setting to Metric. Measurement Unit Terminology
