When running and using elliptical no intensity minutes are recorded despite being in hr zones 3-4 for up to 30 minutes. Recently switched from FitBit Charge 5 and still trying to figure this thing out.

What is your Resting HR? If you do not wear the watch during sleep, and/or have exceptionally high Resting HR, then it will be more difficult to gain IMs. Also please note, that with Vivoactive 4, your HR must stay above the threshold (typically around 150% of the Resting HR), for 10 consecutive minutes without any interruption, so staying 30 minutes with high HR may not be sufficient to trigger any IM if the HR dropped lower during that period several times.

Thanks for the response. I only received the watch on 5/22 having switched from FitBit. My average RHR was 73 yesterday. I had 3 activities and my HR was in zones 3-4 from 13:30 to 14:18 and agin from 15:14 to 15:36. I would add screenshots but I don’t know how.

Make the screenshot, copy it, and paste it into the message box. Or just post a link to the activity - open it in Garmin Connect Web, make it accessible to "Everyone" (see the padlock icon), and then post the URL from the address line, here
Watch is set to heart rate zones
I am not sure about Vivoactive 4, but on some models (i.e. Instinct 2) this setting does not work due to a bug, and the watch continues using the Resting HR.
