Garmin connect App does not know aktivity type

What do you mean by "new activity type"? Hiking is one of the default activity types on the watch and there is nothing new about it. Have you created one yourself?

What symbol/icon do you see for the activity type Hiking on the watch? It should be a walking man with a backpack. Not a standing man with arms up in the air (or maybe doing jumping jacks).

Yes, I mean the default activity Type " hiking" like you decripted (walking man wird backpack).

I never used thus type before. 

When I Open the activity in the App, it is named "hiking" (wandern - in German) but in the overview it does not exist. 

In this overview the hiking activities are listed in the section "all activities" in the sub-section " Others".

I so mit understand why the Type hiking is not listed..

That menu is static and will always only show what you see in the image above. 

Perhaps it is possible that the connect app team add the type "hiking" to the menu? 

Hiking/trekking has also a big Community.
