There seems to be many different security solutions for Garmin Pay to handle. Maybe that particular one isn't implemented correctly in Garmin Pay for iOS or that your bank isn't giving the correct response…

Hello. I thought the same as you. I wanted to do so by today, but finally I won't. The reason is the following : the last step in the process is to open the app bank on the same mobile garmin connect is installed to validate the request done by Garmin. With Boursorama bank you need to do so with a trusted mobile which is my iphone and not the android (it is owned by a friend).

The message is that the card has been declined and that is probably the response from the security solution used here. If you get the message very quickly then it might not wait long enough for you to do the validation in the bank app or that the request is incorrect.
In any case you need support to take a more thorough look at it.
truxe7andy : thanks for your answers. I have called Garmin support France, a ticket is opened. I hope their engineers will investigate according to all the inputs I have provided by email. They told me they could contact me at the end of the day or tomorrow. I think it is maybe too optimistic :), we'll see. Anyway, I will let you know if something good finally happened.

Still no news from Boursorama bank nor Garmin.fr support but now the error message from the app Garmin connect IOS is different => "Connect cannot add your card to the garmin wallet, please try again later on".
Is it good news ? I don't know but I hope so. I will see....
