Cannot upload 70.3 race from Enduro 2 to Garmin Connect

Yesterday I raced my first 70.3 triathlon and I'm crazy bummed that I cannot upload it to Garmin Connect. I raced using my Enduro 2 and an HRM-PRO chest strap. The Multisport event looks fine on my watch with all statistics and maps intact. No matter how many times I reboot the watch or request a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sync the Multisport activity does not upload to Garmin Connect.

Here are the things I've been able to do so far:

  • Use Android File Transfer to download the FIT file to my laptop
  • I used Fit File Tools to essentially extract the swim, bike, and run into three separate files so I could upload them to Strava
  • If I try to manually upload the original FIT file (the one that came off the watch) to Garmin Connect on the web I get an error message
  • I also get an error message when I try to upload the original Multisport FIT file to intervals.icu
    • However, when I use Fit File Tools to remove the last few seconds of the file, it uploads to intervals.icu just fine (albeit as a 5.5 hour run)
    • So maybe the last few seconds are the issue?
    • Garmin Connect web still doesn't let me upload this slightly-trimmed version
  • I downloaded the GPX files from Strava for each of the swim, bike, and run and I can upload those to Garmin Connect
    • This gets the job done but it's not ideal as it doubles my recovery time, acute load, etc.

Can anyone think of anything else? This is a huge, huge bummer for me. I was debating using the Enduro 2 or my Apple Watch Ultra for the race and this is a poor, poor reward for choosing the Garmin, a watch Garmin literally markets as "an ultraperformance multisport GPS smartwatch." Please let me know if you can think of anything.
