
I can’t edit a duplicated course in the mobile app. This is really annoying and defeats the purpose of duplicating a course. Fix this.
Don't edit the duplicated course. Use that as your backup. Just edit the original. You can go back and rename courses later if you wish.
It is a workaround for now, so suggest contacting Garmin Support to fix the issue.
I just now put in a support case with Garmin, so hopefully between your post and my contact with support, we can get this resolved. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for this email! I was attempting to replicate the issue, and I believe I might have been able to identify what you are seeing. To make sure that I am following the same steps as you, can you send me the information below to take a closer look into what appears to be happening?
He wanted a video of the issue, logs from my Garmin Connect app, and details regarding phone type and OS version. I've sent all of that to support with a note that this is also occurring on the iOS app.
Then received the following response.
Thank you for that! I was able to replicate those steps and forward that information onto the app team to let them know about this issue! It does appear that this is only app exclusive, so the other workout would be to make any edits on the Garmin Connect Web. Once I hear back about the resolution, I will let you know!

I wanted to reach out in regards to this case. It appears that we have addressed this issue with the release of our most recent API that was pushed out a few days ago. If you can, go ahead and make sure that your app is up-to-date and attempt to recreate/duplicate a course and edit it.
I tested creating a duplicate course and editing. Seems to be fixed now, at least on the Garmin Connect Android app. If you or someone can confirm the issue is resolved on the iOS side, then I can close out this thread. Thanks.
