Garmin Connect not syncing to Strava if Strava also recorded same run

Hi All, My Garmin syncs to Strava just fine when completing a run. However, I noticed that when I am also recording the run in Strava, the run from Garmin Connect doesn't sync to Strava.

The sequence is this: start recording on Strava and Garmin Fenix 6 at the same time. At completion, press stop on both at same time. Save run on Strava. Then save run on Watch once the Strava one is done. When I do this, the Garmin run doesn't sync to Strava. Has anyone else had this? Is this expected behavior?

I am recording simultaneously because I have been debugging my distance measurement issues and need to simultaneously look at a couple of sources. Is there another way for me to use accomplish this? The primary source I want sync'ed is the Garmin.

I'd tell that yes.

Record the run with your watch, and then enable the Distance Correction in Strava. Usually you get a more accurate distance and pace in this way, since Garmin combines the data from GPS with data from the accelerometer+gyro, and when the watch is not well calibrated, the data from Garmin may be quite off, despite that the GPS track is fine.

Is that something that's clicked on run-by-run? Is there a way to trigger it from the mobile app?
