Garmin didn’t track my activity properly and missed the majority of my workout. I walked 11-12 miles yesterday with 5k ft elevation gain and my phone tracked 29k steps and 11.2 miles while my garmin was set to track the workout as a walk and only recorded 0.5 miles and 14k steps total. Do garmin watches not work when you are outside of cell service?? As added information, I was mountaineering and carrying an ice axe so my hand with the watch was swinging freely and regularly, but slowly and over a very long period of time.
I’d love to know:
- What can I do to improve the accuracy in the future?
- Is there any way for me to correct not just the miles, but the number of steps so that it’s not SO inaccurate?
- What went wrong?
